Dorchester Illustration of the Day no. 1583 Stoughton Street Baptist Church

Dorchester Illustration of the Day no. 1583

Today’s illustration shows the Stoughton Street Baptist Church in a drawing by William P. Budwell.

In response to yesterday’s illustration of the Neponset river by Budwell, Richard Heath supplied this illustration from the Boston Herald—Earl  – I love this picture ! William Budwell was a prolific + very talented newspaper artist who appeared often in the Boston Herald in the 1890’s.  Attached is a line drawing of the Stoughton Street Ch taken from the Herald of July 10,1895. It appeared in a Supplement written about a huge city-wide Protestant “Christian Endeavors” conference.
